A Natural Fruit Fly Solution
Most grocery stores now offer organic produce. When it's organic, no pesticides are being used, so just like with Cracker Jacks, you might get a prize in your fruits and veggies. The surprise you could get are pesky fruit flies. These little guys are annoying, but not dangerous. Fruit flies are non-poisonous and they are not the vector of any disease. Nonetheless, they are still very annoying.
If you're purchasing organic produce, you probably want an organic solution. Here you go:
Place a bowl with 1-2 cups of apple cider vinegar near the produce. As it evaporates, the fruit flies think it's rotting fruit. As they land in it, their wings get wet and they can't fly out. If you don't have any apple cider vinegar around, you can pinch hit with a glass of red wine.
Learn about other naturalfruit fly traps that can help you to get rid of one of the most bothersome kitchen pests.
