Arlington residents may finally find some relief from Lyme disease, a painful, tick-borne disease that plagues the East Coast in large numbers, but also exists in Texas. A new law was recently passed that requires doctors to learn more about the disease. According to Arlington, Texas pest control services, the tick that carries the disease is no bigger than a freckle, but it causes major problems for tens of thousands of people each year. The problems are exacerbated by an uninformed medical system that can’t agree on the symptoms or treatment. In fact, Arlington exterminators say until recently, it was believed by many professionals that ticks in the Southwest cannot transmit the disease. Local residents hope the new law will enable better treatment and a higher awareness of the problem.
