For Long Beach and other Los Angeles County cities, the Eastern fox squirrel is a major nuisance. While to some these furry critters are cute, to others, fruit growers in particular, they’re a threat. According to exterminators in Long Beach and nearby California cities, the squirrels are bold, even known to snatch French fries and other treats out of the hands of children. Long Beach pest control services say they’ve had a hard time keeping the squirrels away from residents’ fruit trees, with the rodents managing to evade even squirrel traps. Residents say they target apricots, pomegranates and oranges, to name a few.
