Exterminators in Santa Ana, CA

A deadly citrus disease has struck California, officials say. Spread by the Asian citrus psyllid, citrus greening, also known by its Chinese name, Huanglongbing, is threatening the state’s $1.8 billion citrus industry. According to Santa Ana pest control services, the insect-borne disease has already decimated 200,000 acres of citrus trees in Florida. In response, California is taking a pre-emptive approach. Exterminators in Santa Ana and other California locales are trying to use chemicals to control the spread of the psyllid, but they can’t spray the entire region, and even a small number of the bugs can develop into a much larger threat. Officials say as a precaution they are mandating that citrus seedlings should only be purchased from approved nurseries.
