California’s citrus capital recently made headlines as a result of a tragic event. According to pest control services in Riverside, a swarm of bees stung a pet dog to death in July of 2011. After a beehive in a neighboring yard fell to the ground, hundreds and maybe thousands of angry bees flew around targeting the nearest thing in site – a neighbor’s dog. Exterminators from Riverside and neighboring California towns say their services were not sought out by the city even though one woman complained about the bees, because the expenses involved were too costly for the town. They warn, however, that though this time it was just a dog, next time could be worse.
